Asking for a definite release date at this time is like asking for a prediction as to whether the world will truly end on December 12th 2012. However one thing is clear, we are very close to a release, and once all the testing and documentation is ready we hope to start the next chapter in social networking for Joomla. Tuiyo is more than you asked for.

Without scribing an extensive post on this topic, we must say that Tuiyo is the next release candidate of the popular Joomunity component for Joomla. All that’s happened thus far is merely an extensive upgrade of functionality, and code, a change in philosophy, a countless amount of bug fixes and new features. Plus Tuiyo aims at respecting and maintaining open standards, something which Joomunity in the direction in which it was going, was unable to achieve. Please stay tuned to our blog for more information on this.

Immediately after release, all of the code will be made available at googlecode. We sure will want you to get involve in maintaining the component with patches, and everything we do from here hence forth will be as open as it should be. We must also add that due to privacy concerns some information is currently and will be held back from the public when the circumstances dictate so.

The jump from Joomunity to Tuiyo was and is a big one. We consider it our responsibility to make sure that we achieve this is the smoothest possible terms. At the moment, behind the scenes, we initially aim to complete this documentation site, with as much information to help you jump the gap with us. Secondly we will not host any demo on our servers this time for financial and security reasons,  (plus you will have to trust us when we say it is super) however once we are sure that you are up and running, after you are satisfied, we will be setting up a community site,  for sharing your experiences and ideas. Please note that we do not intend to hold any other forums, but for the official discussion on get satisfied. The applications directory is currently being developed and will be serving as distribution site for both commercial and free applications. We sincerely hope you be patient with us as we work hard to make things easy for you and I/Us (Tuiyo).
